Bespoke London Tours

Are you planning a trip to London and are you after a special bespoke London tour tailor-made according to your theme and budget? Then please email me (info@dutchgirlinlondon.com) your specific wishes as dates, number of people and things you would like to do and see.
Since I started my regular East London walking tours, I’ve received many requests from (mainly Dutch) visitors to London to organise special bespoke London tours for them. These requests vary from business outings to family holidays with a variety of themes, the possibilities are endless! If you want to find out how I can help make your London city trip even better, than simply email me so we can discuss the options. Below are two examples of bespoke London tours I’ve organised in the past.

Business

Dutch company Tintelingen were visiting London for a business outing. They contacted me to organise an entire day for them from pick-up at the hotel in the morning till dinner. They were after a more exciting and less standard day out in London. On their wishlist was my East London tour and visits to contemporary art museums and galleries.
I made the following itinerary for them: Pick-up at their hotel in Waterloo followed by a short walk to Embankment to see the London Eye, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. We continued our walk along the river Thames to the BFI where we had a lovely lunch in their Benugo restaurant. After a delicious meal we visited contemporary art museum Tate Modern, crossed the Millennium Bridge, walked to St Paul’s Cathedral and took the Tube to Shoreditch. There I gave them my East London tour, showed them lots of contemporary art in the streets and visited some art galleries. From there we took taxis to the White Cube Gallery and finally ended our day together at funky restaurant Sketch (with futuristic toilet pods as you can see in the photo).

PERSONAL

As a big Harry Potter fan I was very pleased with the request for a 3-hr London sightseeing tour with a Harry Potter theme for a family visiting from Belgium. It was the first time for their 10-yr old granddaughter to visit London who’s a big fan of the Harry Potter films and knew them all by heart! We started the day at St Pancras International where I picked them all up at the Eurostar arrivals hall. After showing them the famous Platform 9 3/4 we took a pre-booked private car to commence our special Harry Potter bespoke London tour. I prepared the day by studying all films to see what famous London icons appeared in them so we could combine the London sightseeing tour with a pinch of Wizard magic. I had put together the itinerary after consulting the driver for the best route. While we passed sights as Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Westminster Abbey, Tower of London and much more, I told them about their history, but also (where possible) in what Harry Potter films they appeared. I had copied short clips from Harry Potter films onto my iPad to show the granddaughter so she could see how the real site had played a role in the films.

Please note that it is possible to join me on a Harry Potter tour without a private car. The family just requested one for convenience sake.
